Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
Nascetta from vines planted in 1990 at Tenuta Serra dei Fiori.
Grapes
100% Nascetta, an ancient semi-aromatic variety native to the Langhe and the province of Cuneo. Its modern rediscovery has been relatively recent, and production amounts to only a few thousand bottles.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place exclusively in stainless steel.
Ageing
Maturation also takes place exclusively in stainless steel. The wine can develop well over time, revealing an increasingly mineral character.
Tasting profile
The aromatic profile spans citrus, apple, pear, acacia blossom, fresh vegetal notes, exotic fruit, hay, straw and grapefruit. With evolution, the nose moves toward hydrocarbon and flint nuances, while the palate changes from fruit-led to savoury and mineral.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 10–12 °C. It works as an aperitif and pairs with raw fish, white meats and fresh cheeses.
Label / history
The variety’s name is pronounced in the local dialect with separated syllables: “Nas-cëtta.” Nascetta’s rise in prestige led to formal recognition of Langhe DOC Nascetta. Studies undertaken by Serra dei Fiori with the University of Turin’s agricultural faculty contributed to this development, beginning particularly with Il Fiore Langhe Bianco, a Chardonnay and Nascetta cuvée.
