Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from estate vineyards in Central Tuscany at 250 m above sea level, with southern exposure and spurred-cordon training. The vines average 20–30 years of age, with rows spaced 2 m × 0.75 m and yields of 60–70 quintals per hectare.
The Oreno stream crosses a clay-rich part of the estate where Merlot is grown. Cabernet Sauvignon occupies vineyards with more pebbles, whose drainage and ability to moderate temperature and humidity suit the variety. Petit Verdot brings spice and greater flavour intensity to the blend.
Grapes
Latest published vintage (2018): 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot.

Fermentation and skin maceration take place under controlled temperature for approximately 25 days, with frequent pumpovers. The technical sheet also characterizes the cap management as manual punching down.

Label / history
Antonio Moretti Cuseri created Oreno in 1999 after being impressed by the elegance and finesse of Bordeaux varieties. Established vineyards were grafted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, producing a Bordeaux-inspired blend with a Tuscan identity. The name comes from the Oreno stream that crosses the estate near the clay-rich Merlot vineyards.
