Vineyard and terroir

The grapes are harvested from vines between 3 and 35 years old. The estate’s Casale del Bosco property is in the hills of Montalcino, at 564 m above sea level.

Vinification

The grapes are picked by hand in the second half of October. The wine follows a traditional family recipe rooted in Tuscan winemaking traditions.

Ageing

The complete production cycle lasts six years before release.

Tasting profile

Refined and elegant, with a tannic structure that softens and becomes rounder with time. For the 2013 vintage, drinking was recommended from 2018.

Serving and pairing

Pairs with a broad range of complex dishes.

Label / history

This was the first wine produced by Silvio Nardi and debuted in 1958, eight years after Silvio Nardi acquired Casale del Bosco. Emilia Nardi took over from her father in 1990 and subsequently restructured the vineyards and cellars, introduced an innovative approach to the estate’s established traditions, and organized scientific research.
