Storia

Late eighteenth century

The Villa Spinosa farm was built in the late eighteenth century, with its own garden and vineyards managed under a sharecropping system. Grapes were one of many crops on Valpolicella farms of the time, grown alongside fruit and arable crops, and livestock was also raised.

Late 1980s onward

Villa Spinosa's modern story began in the late 1980s, when the company started making its own wines and building a reputation in the area. Major improvements to the farm and vineyards followed. Historic farm buildings that once served as stables, corn stores, chicken coops and shelters for livestock and equipment were converted for the stages of Valpolicella wine production, including areas for drying grapes for Amarone and Recioto and rooms for maturing wine in barrels.

Today

The company continues to expand its vineyards, preparing more land for new plantings. It produces a full range of Valpolicella wines from its own vineyards in Negrar in Valpolicella and Marano di Valpolicella. It also founded the Francesca Finato Spinosa Cultural Association, which promotes the history, culture and wines of Valpolicella through cultural events.

Filosofia

Villa Spinosa states that care for the environment, the countryside and local culture has always guided its development. In line with these values, it founded the Francesca Finato Spinosa Cultural Association to promote the history, culture and wines of Valpolicella through cultural events.
