Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in Appiano and Caldaro, on vines aged 5 to 30 years.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested gently by hand at the end of September and carefully selected. Fermentation and partial malolactic fermentation take place in steel tanks.
Tasting profile
Pleasant fruity aroma. The palate is clean, fresh and lingering, with well-balanced acidity. The wine is juicy, with an appealing fruit character and a long finish.
Label / history
The wine belongs to the winery's classic range of wines typical of South Tyrol. Until the end of the 1970s, Chardonnay in South Tyrol was used only in blends, usually alongside Pinot Bianco. In 1982, San Michele-Appiano became the first winery to release it as a single-variety wine.
