Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the certified-organic vineyards of Masseria Surani on the Salento Peninsula. The vines are Guyot-trained and grow in limestone-based soils rich in iron. The vineyard forms part of Masseria Surani’s 55 hectares managed according to organic-viticulture principles, with an emphasis on protecting natural resources and biodiversity.

Vinification
Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel vats.
Ageing
The wine matures for at least six months in Slavonian oak casks.
Technical data
Alcohol: 13% vol. Bottle size: 750 ml. The production process uses no products of animal origin or ingredients containing allergens. Packaging includes a 420 g lightweight bottle, an organic FSC-certified cork, an FSC-paper label and recycled-paper cardboard.
Tasting profile
Bright, deep ruby red with vivid purple highlights. Aromas of ripe red fruit and sour cherries are joined by rose nuances and delicate spice. Soft tannins and good body shape the palate; generous fruit is balanced by freshness and a tangy, savory finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16–18°C. Pair with pasta in meat sauce, grilled or roasted red meat, spicy cold cuts and moderately aged cheeses.
