Vineyard and terroir
The Negroamaro comes from Masseria Surani's vineyards in the Salento region. The vines are Guyot-trained on limestone-based soils rich in iron. The estate has 55 hectares of vineyards cultivated according to organic-viticulture principles, with an emphasis on indigenous varieties and the preservation of natural resources and biodiversity.
Grapes
100% Negroamaro.
Vinification
The must remains in contact with the skins for 8–10 hours, followed by 10–12 days of fermentation in stainless-steel tanks. Fermentation temperatures are controlled and do not exceed 13 °C.
Ageing
At least four months in bottle.
Technical data
Alcohol: 12.5% vol. Bottle size: 750 ml.
No products of animal origin or containing allergens are used during production. Cellar procedures are designed to optimize resources, limit waste and facilitate recycling.
Tasting profile
An elegant, refined rosé with floral aromas of rose and geranium alongside pink grapefruit and pomegranate. The palate is lively and fresh, with sustained aromatic character and delicate salinity on the finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 8–10 °C. Suitable for Apulian dishes such as orecchiette with broccoli rabe and meatballs in tomato sauce, as well as fish and fresh pasta.
Label / history
Soranì takes its name from the locality where Masseria Surani stands. The place is personified on the label as a mysterious, elegant and passionate woman reflecting the character of the area. Packaging includes an organic cork with FSC certification, an FSC-certified paper label and recycled-paper cardboard.
