Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the Soave area. Some of Tamellini's vineyards were planted in the 1960s and 1980s. The vineyards face south, giving the vines plenty of sunshine and helping the grapes reach full ripeness. The soils are mainly limestone, which contribute to the wine's focused, fresh and mineral character. The estate follows sustainable winegrowing practices, aiming to express the grape variety and its place of origin as clearly as possible.
Grapes
Garganega shows its character through a combination of fruit, floral, mineral and almond notes rather than intense aromas.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in small batches, with only suitable bunches selected in the vineyard. They are gently crushed and pressed as whole bunches, without destemming. The must is chilled to around 5 °C and fermented at a controlled 15 °C. The low temperature before fermentation and careful pressing help preserve fresh fruit and floral aromas, while the cool fermentation gives a clean, light profile.
Ageing
After fermentation the wine rests in stainless-steel tanks for a further 3–4 months, allowing the fruit and mineral notes to come together.
Tasting profile
Fresh, aromatic and smooth. The nose shows floral notes with hints of citrus, peach and almond. The palate is focused, fresh and mineral, with a clean, light profile.
Serving and pairing
Suited to lunch or dinner, or as an aperitif.
