Storia
Acquisition by Ronco Margherita
Ronco Margherita acquired Azienda Rieppi in Albana di Prepotto, within the Colli Orientali del Friuli area. The acquisition expanded its presence in eastern Friuli and was associated particularly with two native varieties, Schioppettino and Tazzelenghe.
Tenuta Rieppi subsequently became a distinct five-wine collection comprising Tazzelenghe Rieppi, Schioppettino Rieppi, Friulano Rieppi, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso Rieppi and Ribolla Gialla Rieppi.
Terroir
Tenuta Rieppi is associated with Albana di Prepotto in the Colli Orientali del Friuli. Ronco Margherita’s holdings in this area cover 8 ha and include the acquired Rieppi property.
The local substrate is ponca, an Eocene formation composed of alternating marl and sandstone. The marl consists of calcareous clay, while the sandstone is formed from cemented sands rich in silica.
Filosofia
The acquisition of Azienda Rieppi was presented as a further step in Ronco Margherita’s pursuit of quality in the Colli Orientali del Friuli. The estate’s identity centres on Friulian grape varieties, with particular emphasis on Schioppettino and Tazzelenghe.
