Vineyard and terroir

The Pinot Bianco comes from a 50-year-old vineyard at Vencò di Dolegna del Collio, close to the Slovenian border. The site benefits from the estate's mild climate: the Julian Alps provide protection to the north, while the landscape opens southward toward the Adriatic. Its characteristic ponca soil consists of Eocene marl and sandstone.

Grapes

100% Pinot Bianco. The wine was relaunched as a pure varietal with the 2020 harvest, replacing the earlier Frontiere white blend.

Technical data

Alcohol: 13.5% vol.

Tasting profile

A poised, gentle white with intense but refined floral and fruit fragrances. The palate is full, harmonious and balanced, expressing the variety and its territory with freshness and finesse.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 10–12°C.

Label / history

The name “Frontiere” celebrates Vencò's position near the border, a place historically shaped by the meeting of different peoples and cultures. The current Pinot Bianco interpretation began with the 2020 vintage.
