Questo vino

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from Tenuta Sant'Helena at Vencò in Dolegna del Collio, close to the Slovenian border. The estate's mild microclimate is protected by the Julian Alps to the north and open toward the Adriatic to the south. The vineyards stand on Eocene marl and sandstone soils known locally as ponca.

Grapes

Ribolla Gialla, an ancient native variety.

Vinification

The grapes are picked during the first ten days of September and fermented in stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

Maturation takes place in stainless steel.

Technical data

Collio DOC. Alcohol: 13% vol.

Tasting profile

Bright straw yellow. The fine yet intense bouquet combines yellow flowers and apple with citrus nuances. The palate is fresh and exuberant, with lively acidity and pronounced mineral character.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 10–12°C. Its versatility suits both aperitif service and an entire meal, with oysters and sea truffles highlighted as particularly successful pairings.

Label / history

The wine honours Caterina, mother of Luciano, Gianfranco and Loris Fantinel, and evokes her strength and discretion.
