Questo vino

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from Tenuta Sant'Helena at Vencò in Dolegna del Collio, near the Slovenian border. The vineyards benefit from a mild microclimate, sheltered by the Julian Alps to the north and open toward the Adriatic to the south, with Eocene marl and sandstone soils locally called ponca.

Grapes

Sauvignon. The limited-production wine results from focused clonal research.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested during the first ten days of September and fermented in stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

Maturation takes place in stainless steel.

Technical data

Collio DOC. Alcohol: 13% vol.

Tasting profile

Straw yellow with greenish reflections. The intensely aromatic bouquet recalls yellow pepper, banana and melon. Elegant on the palate, with balanced acidity and savouriness reinforcing its structure.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 10–12°C. Pair with fish starters and shellfish; its vegetal nuances also complement vegetables and dishes prepared with aromatic herbs.

Label / history

Judri, or Iudrio, is the stream flowing near the estate and marking the boundary between the provinces of Gorizia and Udine.
