Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
Neblo is associated with the summit of the hill on which Tenuta Sant'Helena stands, rising to 230 m above sea level at Vencò di Dolegna del Collio near Slovenia. The estate is protected by the Julian Alps to the north and opens southward toward the Adriatic. Its characteristic ponca soil consists of Eocene marl and sandstone.
Grapes
100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Vinification
Harvest takes place in late September. A portion of the grapes undergoes post-harvest drying, followed by fermentation in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine is partially matured in oak barrels and develops through long, slow maturation.
Technical data
Venezia Giulia IGT. Alcohol: 13.5% vol. Available in 750 ml and 1,500 ml bottles.
Tasting profile
Ruby red with garnet reflections. The intense, penetrating bouquet combines woodland fruit—especially blackberry and cherry—with tertiary nuances acquired during extended maturation. Austere and decisive on the palate, with warmth, fullness and a silky texture.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 18–20°C. Pair with roasts, fine poultry or game; it is particularly suited to braised meat prepared with the wine itself.
Label / history
“Neblo” means “sky” and evokes the top of the hill on which Tenuta Sant'Helena stands.
