Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards occupy south-west-facing middle slopes in Tuscany. Sangiovese and Merlot grow on a mixture of clay and limestone soils.
Grapes
90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot.
Vinification
Vinification begins with delicate crushing. The must macerates on the skins for 1–2 weeks to encourage the extraction of colour and other polyphenolic compounds.
Tasting profile
Light ruby red. A medium-bodied wine with balanced acidity, aromas of wild berries and red flowers, and a dry, fresh palate with good body and smooth tannins.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16–18 °C. Pair with rich, creamy pasta dishes, stuffed roasted game hens, barbecued chorizo or other sausages.
