Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in Montalcino, Tuscany. The vineyards occupy southeast- and southwest-facing areas with stony, galestro-rich soils containing abundant skeletal material. Vines are trained as balanced unilateral spurred cordons at a density of 4,600 plants per hectare. The reported yield is 60–70 quintals of grapes per hectare.

100% Sangiovese.
Vinification
Harvest takes place from September through October. Fermentation starts spontaneously without cultured-yeast additions. Vigorous pump-overs are carried out during the initial phase, while the temperature is kept below 30°C. The wine undergoes a medium-length maceration on the skins.
Ageing
Six months in stainless steel followed by six months in bottle.
