Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from vineyards in the south-east and south-west areas of Montalcino, Tuscany. The soils are stony and marl-rich, with abundant skeletal material. Vines are planted at a density of 4,600 per hectare and trained as balanced unilateral spurred cordons. Yields are 60–70 quintals per hectare.

100% Sangiovese.
Vinification
Harvest takes place between September and October. Fermentation begins spontaneously without the addition of cultured yeasts. Intense pump-overs are carried out during the initial phase, while the temperature is controlled at a maximum of 30°C. The wine undergoes a long maceration on the skins.
Ageing
The wine matures in wood for six months.

Tasting profile
The colour is an intense, lively ruby red. The bouquet centres on red fruit, with the aromas integrated in a balanced whole. The palate is harmonious, approachable and marked by a mineral character. Its youthful fragrance is central to its style.
