Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie in Tuscany at 255–265 m above sea level. Their heavy soil contains 30% clay. The vines are trained to single Guyot at a density of 5,000 vines per hectare.
Grapes
Traditional Tuscan Sangiovese is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, which contributes a more exotic character.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel vats, with approximately 15 days of skin contact.
Ageing
The wine matures for 6–7 months in large oak barrels, followed by three months in bottle before release from the cellar.
Tasting profile
Ruby red. Aromas of red cherry, redcurrant and violet are accented by mint. The palate is medium-bodied and flavourful, with soft tannins that support an approachable texture and a fresh balsamic finish. The style is modern and versatile enough to drink alone or with food.
Serving and pairing
Pair with pasta in meat sauce, barbecue or cheese.
