Vineyard and terroir
The low-trained vineyards lie on the volcanic slopes of Mount Vulture in Acerenza, Potenza, at elevations reaching 800 metres. The high altitude creates a long, slow growing season and places Vulture among Italy’s latest-harvested areas. Late-ripening varieties such as Aglianico are suited to the site’s poor volcanic soils.
Grapes
Aglianico.
Vinification
The grapes pass directly to the press, where gentle, low-pressure pressing yields free-run must. Fermentation proceeds at 10°C.
Ageing
The wine matures in stainless steel on its fine lees.
Tasting profile
Bright, pale pink. The distinctly fruity bouquet is led by wild strawberry and raspberry, with subtler cherry and pomegranate notes. Fresh acidity balances the palate, which closes with a pleasant savoury quality.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 12–14°C. Versatile across a meal, particularly with hot or cold seafood starters, raw fish—especially shellfish—and vegetable-based first courses.
