Vintage notes

In 2022, Sangiovese budded in mid-April. Growth was uniform above 300 m, while lower vineyards followed about a week later because of the cool spring. Conditions remained regular through flowering, with some rain and temperature variation. Intense heat and drought developed after fruit set and continued through late spring and summer, broken by heavy rain between late July and early August during veraison. Soil management helped make winter reserves of water and nutrients available, allowing healthy vines and fully ripe fruit despite the heat stress.

The 2019 season was notably regular: a generally cold winter without excessive precipitation was followed by a rainy, mild spring. Regular rain continued through June, encouraging balanced canopy and bunch development. Summer avoided extreme heat, supporting optimal ripening; harvest extended from 10 September to 13 October.
