Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from estate vineyards on the southern and western sides of Montalcino, at elevations ranging from 250 to 450 m. The soils comprise limestone, clay, sand and silt. The vines are trained to a spurred-cordon system, with an average density of 5,500 vines per hectare.
Grapes
90% Sangiovese and 10% other grape varieties.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and selected before pressing. Maceration and fermentation take place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for 20–25 days at 26–28°C.
Ageing
The wine spends a short period in wood, never exceeding three months, followed by at least six months in bottle.
Technical data
Alcohol: 13.5% vol.
Tasting profile
Bright ruby red. The bouquet is fruit-led and finely defined. The palate is fresh, intense and pleasant.

Serve at 18°C. An everyday wine intended for service throughout a meal.
