Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is grown in Collio in northeastern Italy. The local microclimate is influenced by warm winds from the nearby Adriatic and cool winds from the Alps, which meet on the slopes of Capriva del Friuli. The estate’s vineyards are planted at densities of 4,500–7,000 vines per hectare to promote concentration.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness and destemmed. Fermentation lasts approximately 20 days.
Ageing
The wine matures in French oak barrels for 35–36 months, followed by a further 10 months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Elegant in character, with a rich aroma and a balanced, gently spicy palate.
Serving and pairing
Pairs particularly well with game, barbecued meats, rabbit with truffle sauce and meat appetisers.
