Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The Chardonnay comes from 20-year-old vines planted on south-facing hillsides with marl soils. The microclimate on the slopes of Capriva del Friuli is shaped by warm air from the nearby Adriatic meeting cool air from the Alps. Across the estate, planting density ranges from 4,500 to 7,000 vines per hectare.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at the very beginning of September and gently pressed in a pneumatic press. The must is transferred to 225-litre barrels.
Ageing
The wine rests in 225-litre barrels for one year, followed by a further 12 months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Complex and beautifully balanced, with a rich aroma.
Label / history
Gräfin de La Tour is one of three wines created in honour of the estate’s founder, Count Théodore de La Tour. Annual production is approximately 7,000 bottles.
