Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards extend across the hill descending from Montenibbio, the highest summit in the Ficulle area and a place associated with the golden eagle. The grapes are grown mainly at 1,200–1,300 ft, approximately 366–396 m. Soils rich in fossil shells contribute to the vineyard ecosystem and the territorial expression of the varieties.
Grapes
Merlot contributes roundness and softness, while Sangiovese provides structure and elegance.
Ageing
The wine matures for nine months in French oak barrels.
Tasting profile
Intense ruby red with subtle violet highlights. The nose is bright and complex, centred on red fruit. The palate is lightly spiced, with a tannic texture that creates creamy, harmonious sensations. The overall style is rounded and elegant.
Label / history
The name refers to Montenibbio, described as the mountain of the golden eagle and the highest peak in the Ficulle area.
