Early career\nMatteo Cacciagrano is an experienced winemaker with more than 15 years in the industry. Early in his winemaking career he attended a tasting with the winemakers Laureano Serres, Joan Ramon Escoda and Anthony Tortul. During the tasting, the group opened an unlabeled bottle of natural wine that was described in colloquial Spanish as "brutal." This moment inspired the "Brutal" wine movement.\n\n### Founding of Alchimia\nInspired by this experience, Matteo Cacciagrano set out to make his own "Brutal" wine and founded the Alchimia project in 2019.

Alchimia Cantina Urbana is based in Italy's Abruzzo region, with vineyards spread across the provinces of Pescara and L'Aquila, including the Peligna Valley and Val Pescara.

Matteo Cacciagrano uses organic and biodynamic methods in his vineyards.

All Alchimia Cantina Urbana wines are bottled without fining, filtration or added sulfur, producing modern, straightforward wines that reflect Abruzzo's "strong and gentle" soul.
