About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from vines grown by close, trusted friends on the mainland, in Ampeleia’s vineyards.
Vinification
The wine is made organically. It macerates on the skins for three days and ferments spontaneously in steel vats without temperature control. It is usually racked off the lees well before fermentation is complete and then decanted. Before bottling, it undergoes no filtration or chemical, thermal or mechanical treatment.
Ageing
It ages in barrels until bottling.
Tasting profile
Fresh, vibrant and rich, reflecting the character of the island of Giglio.
Serving and pairing
Decant for 15–30 minutes before serving.
Label / history
The label notes that the Sangiovese is sourced from friends who grow it on the mainland in Ampeleia’s vineyards.
