About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from a 1 ha vineyard beside the sea on the island of Giglio. The wine is produced organically.
Grapes
The blend varies by vintage and combines eight to ten Italian varieties, including the rare Corinto Nero.
Vinification
Vinification involves minimal intervention. The grapes undergo extended skin maceration and spontaneous fermentation in steel vats, without temperature control or additions to the must. Before bottling, the wine is neither fined, filtered nor stabilised.
Ageing
The wine matures for 20 months in steel tanks, followed by a short period in 500-litre Austrian oak barrels and further ageing in bottle.
Tasting profile
Sweet Mediterranean notes meet salty, sea-influenced nuances. The wine is pure and expressive.
