About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from Vigna dell'Asina (“Donkey Vineyard”) in Maremma. The vines are cultivated biodynamically at 500 m above sea level on soils containing slate and limestone.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in early October. Maceration lasts approximately two weeks and is partly carbonic, with 20% whole bunches.
Ageing
The wine ages for nine months in concrete vessels.

Label / history
The name “Ampeleia” derives from the Ancient Greek word for “grapevine branch” and reflects deep winemaking roots and traditions.
