About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in the vineyards of the Santa Cristina Gela estate, where burdock is abundant.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-October, destemmed and gently pressed. A pre-fermentation stage lasts 24–36 hours at a controlled temperature of 15–16 °C, followed by 22–25 days of alcoholic fermentation and maceration.
Ageing
Depending on the vintage, the wine ages for 18–28 months in French oak barrels.
Tasting profile
Bright and expressive.
Label / history
“Carduni” means “burdock” in Italian. The plant’s abundance in the vineyards inspired Paolo Marzotto to grow Petit Verdot there.
