History
The Bava family has grown vines around Cocconato since 1600. In 1911 the family built its first winery. More than one hundred harvests and six generations followed. The current family includes Piero Bava, his sons Roberto, Giulio and Paolo, and younger family members Francesca and Giorgio.
Terroir
The estate extends between Monferrato and the Langhe. The Tuffo vineyard in Cocconato has white calcareous and marly soils.
Winemaking
The estate manages 50 ha of vineyards and 20 ha of fields and woodland. Practices include natural fertilizers, integrated pest control, solar power, recyclable materials and lightweight bottles.
Bava produces still and sparkling wines from Monferrato and the Langhe, including traditional long-aged reds, Martinotti-method wines and Alta Langa traditional-method sparkling wine.
Philosophy
The family connects quality with healthy vineyards, environmental responsibility and Piedmontese culture.
