About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The wine comes from the 4.01-hectare Le Miniere vineyard at Tenuta Novare in Arbizzano di Negrar, within Valpolicella Classica. The south-west-facing vineyard comprises two terraces situated above the passage of the historic Miniere di Novare mines. Its Eocene limestone incorporates Upper Cretaceous scaglia rossa, beneath approximately 1 m of predominantly reddish clay topsoil. The vines average 20 years of age, are double-Guyot trained and planted at 5,000 vines per hectare. Yield is 100 quintals per hectare.
Grapes
70% Corvina Veronese from the Novare massal selection, 20% Corvinone and 10% Rondinella.
Ageing
The wine matures in concrete vats for 6–9 months, followed by at least six months in bottle.

Tasting profile
Bright ruby in colour. Fresh fruit, cherry and woodland berries shape the nose, joined by elegant white-pepper notes. The palate is savoury and graceful, with a long, distinctly saline persistence.
