Ageing
The wine rests in steel tanks for several months.
Tasting profile
The nose has notes of acacia blossom, honey, almond and citrus. The palate is complex, fresh, balanced and elegant.
Label / history
The Bigi family's winemaking history began in 1880 with Luigi Bigi, who helped extend recognition of the Orvieto region across Italy and abroad. The estate was formerly owned by the La Trinita monastery.
Viticulture in Orvieto dates back to the Etruscans. Its first written record dates to 1292, and three years later a special official committee called the “Guardians of the Vineyards” was established to preserve vine quality. Local technological developments included a system of underground galleries and grape pressing at ground level.
