About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow on the steep slopes of the Valdobbiadene area. The soils are partly alluvial, with glacial and iron-rich deposits and little organic matter.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand at optimal ripeness. They are gently pressed, and only free-run juice is used, with no more than 70 L of wine produced from 100 kg of grapes. The juice is cold-settled in steel tanks at 5–10 °C for 10–12 hours. The clarified must then ferments in stainless steel tanks for approximately 15–20 days at a constant 18–20 °C to create the base wine.
Secondary fermentation follows the Italian Charmat method, with the base wine, sugar and yeast fermenting in sealed autoclaves. This preserves the grapes’ original aromas and produces a fruity, floral character.
Ageing
After bottling, the wine rests in bottle for 30–40 days before release.
Tasting profile
Delicate, fresh and approachable, with fruity and floral aromas. Residual sugar gives the palate exceptional softness.
Label / history
The patented bottle has flowing curves inspired by the winding form of a grapevine; its shape is also intended to make pouring easier. The label colour evokes the rich earth of Valdobbiadene.
The design originated when Desiderio and his father Angelo, the company’s founder, were preparing vines for the coming season. Angelo noticed a large, twisting branch and held it as he would a sparkling-wine bottle, inspiring Desiderio to create the new format.
The bottle was presented publicly at “Vinitaly, 2015”. It received the Gold Mark and took first place in the sparkling-wine category at the International Packaging Competition.
