About this wine

Grapes

100% Brachetto.

Vinification

Fermentation and skin maceration take place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for 36–48 hours. The wine then passes to pressurised tanks for the prise de mousse. Stabilisation and microfiltration precede bottle maturation.

Tasting profile

Light ruby red with purple highlights, lively foam and a persistent stream of bubbles. The generous, fragrant and aromatic bouquet features ripe red fruit and withered rose. Sweet, soft, delicate and gently sparkling on the palate, with a suave texture and long aromatic persistence.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 6–8°C. Pair with strawberries and forest fruits or dried fruits including walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, pistachios and figs. Traditional dessert matches include pastries, panettone and jam tarts. Chocolate is presented as an especially successful pairing.

Label / history

Giacomo Bologna loved pallone elastico, a Piedmontese ball game played in the hills around Acqui, an area associated with Brachetto. Like his father, he inherited “Braida,” the nickname of a champion player. The family began producing Brachetto d’Acqui in 1967.
