About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes are grown in Rai di San Polo di Piave, in the province of Treviso, Veneto. The vineyards lie at 30 m above sea level on clay soils containing a small proportion of sand, with a planting density of 2,800 vines per hectare.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-September and pressed very gently. The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation. Its bubbles are produced using the Charmat method.

Ageing

The wine is not aged.

Label / history

The name Rajo was used in ancient times to mean “Paradise.” The Cecchetto and Giol families planted vineyards on previously unused land in 1960, and the estate passed entirely to the Cecchetto family in 1972.
