About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Glera is grown at 260 m in clayey, highly mineral soils along the Tagliamento River in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Production is based in the Pittaro brothers’ family vineyards, identified on labels as Pitars, where the wine is also bottled. The area is presented as a biodiverse micro-zone associated with environmentally conscious and sustainable farming and the protection of World Heritage Biosphere Reserves.

Grapes

100% Glera. The published vintage is 2021.

Vinification

A vintage-dated Brut Nature sparkling wine made by the Charmat, or Martinotti Lungo, method, with approximately 9 months of fermentation on the yeasts. Contains sulphites.

Technical data

Alcohol: 12%. Residual sugar: 2.7 g/L. Published format: 750 cl. Annual production: 5,000 bottles.

Tasting profile

A lively, fragrant and vibrant sparkling wine. Jasmine and chamomile lead the floral profile, accompanied by fruit, almond and lemon. The palate is soft, mineral and rich, with a delicate aromatic character. Persistent citrus notes leave a fresh, clean finish; the overall impression is dry and elegant.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 6–8°C in a narrow flute. Its pointed base supports the development of the perlage, while the narrow opening concentrates aromas that require little aeration. Intended for immediate enjoyment.
