About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes exclusively from 30-year-old vines on the Ca Maiol estate. The vineyards have clay-rich soils and benefit from the mild microclimate of Lake Garda. The estate lies in the heart of the Lugano area, close to the lake.
Vinification
The grapes undergo gentle fermentation and maceration in stainless-steel tanks. The wine is ready to drink in the spring following the harvest.

Label / history
The name “Prestige” refers to the combination of the clay-rich soils, Lake Garda’s mild microclimate and the character of the native grape.
Provenza was founded by Walter Contato in 1967 and named in honour of Provenze, the family’s place of origin. The estate began with 12 ha and later expanded to 120 ha of vineyards, while retaining traditional farming methods. After Walter Contato died in May 1996, his wife Cesarina and their children, Fabio and Patrizia, took over the business and developed a modern, large-scale winery.
Provenza is also known as “Ca Maiol,” after the vineyard’s first owner, the notary Sebastiano Maolo. The estate now comprises four vineyards: Maiolo, Molino, Storta and Rocheta. Annual production of this wine is approximately 250,000 bottles.
