History
Caparzo produced its first Brunello di Montalcino in 1970, when only thirteen wineries operated in Montalcino.
The first Vigna La Casa was produced in 1977 from the Montosoli hill. The estate was among the early Montalcino producers to bottle a single-vineyard Brunello and to use barriques for part of the maturation.
The first Brunello Riserva was produced in 1980, La Caduta Rosso di Montalcino in 1991 and Moscadello Vendemmia Tardiva in 1996.

Terroir
Caparzo owns vineyards in northern, southern, eastern and south-western Montalcino, with sandy-clayey, schist, stony and galestro soils.
Winemaking

The estate uses vineyards from different parts of Montalcino to combine their individual microclimates and soils.
