About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vineyards form part of the vine-growing amphitheatre surrounding Tenuta Carretta at Piobesi d’Alba. Their 21 ha lie on the sandy, calcareous soils typical of Roero. The stated yield is 75 q/ha.

Grapes

100% Arneis.

Vinification

Whole grapes undergo gentle pneumatic pressing following a 24-hour cold maceration at 10°C. Fermentation proceeds at a low temperature of 18–20°C.

Ageing

The wine remains for approximately six months in stainless-steel tanks. Contact with the fine lees, adjusted according to harvest quality, develops aromatic complexity and fullness. Ageing is then completed in bottle.

Technical data

Roero Arneis DOCG. The vineyard area is 21 ha in Piobesi d’Alba, and the first production was in 2004. Available formats are 0.375 L, 0.75 L, 1.5 L, 3 L, 6 L, 9 L and 12 L.

Tasting profile

The technical sheet describes straw yellow with golden highlights. Ripe pear, white peach, hawthorn blossom and acacia honey are joined by an exotic-fruit accent. The palate is enveloping, full and mineral, with fresh acidity and a persistent finish.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 9–11°C. It works as an aperitif and with appetizers, shellfish, molluscs, raw fish, oysters, lighter pasta and risotto dishes.

Label / history
