About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Ròche d’Ampsèj vineyard lies where Roero’s sandy marine soils meet the iron-rich marl across the natural boundary formed by the Tanaro River.
Vinification
Vinification takes place in stainless-steel tanks and 600-litre oak barrels. The must remains in steel for 10–12 days and in the oak barrels for 45–60 days.
Ageing
The wine matures in oak barriques for at least 16 months, followed by two years in bottle.
Tasting profile
It is notably intense and structured.
