About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown on hills around Lavis and Meano, at elevations of 300–500 m.
Vinification
Lots from the same vintage are blended before bottling. The wine is made by the traditional method, with fermentation in the bottle.
Ageing
After bottling, the wine rests in cellars maintained at 8–12 °C until fully mature.
Label / history
The logo, formed from two letter “O” shapes, represents riddling, the traditional-method stage in which bottles are gently turned to remove sediment. Monfort was founded by Giovanni Simoni, grandfather of the current owner, Lorenzo. This wine received a bronze medal at the 2009 International Wine Challenge.
