About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in Costiglio d’Asti, in south- and east-facing vineyards. The medium-textured soils contain veins of clay, and the vines are 20–30 years old on average.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested into small crates between 1 and 20 September. Around two-thirds are gently pressed in a vertical press; the remaining third is crushed and destemmed. The must macerates on the skins for 3–4 days before alcoholic fermentation in small stainless-steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation follows.
Ageing
The wine matures on its lees in stainless-steel tanks for about six months. It is bottled without fining or filtration, then rests for approximately three more months.
Tasting profile
Juicy, with abundant fruit on both the nose and palate.
