About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in Costigliole d’Asti, in south- and east-facing vineyards with soils marked by sandy and clay veins. The vines are 20–25 years old on average.
Vinification
Harvest takes place in small crates during the cool morning hours between 10 and 15 September. A portion of the grapes is destemmed and crushed, then macerated on the skins for 3–4 days. After pressing in a vertical press, alcoholic fermentation takes place in small stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine rests in stainless-steel tanks for about six months. It is bottled without clarification or filtration, then matures for approximately three further months.
Tasting profile
Generous fruit and woody notes appear on both the nose and palate.
