About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Schiava fruit comes from the historic Bischofsleiten vineyard by Lake Kaltern. The vines grow at 230–280 metres above sea level in a mild climate, on warm, well-drained limestone and sandy soils containing gravel and sandstone and noted for their mineral richness.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, briefly macerated and gently pressed, then fermented under cool, dry conditions. A secondary fermentation lasting approximately 30 days takes place in pressurised tanks.
Ageing
The wine rests on its fine lees in steel tanks for six months.
Tasting profile
Elegant and fresh, with delicate fruit and floral notes and a fine, delicate stream of bubbles.
