About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The estate has 40 ha of vineyards on Sicily, 7 km from the sea between Caltagirone and Piazza Armerina. Its first harvest from the new vineyard took place in 2007.

Vinification

The must undergoes pre-fermentation maceration with frequent pumping over. Fermentation lasts 10 days in stainless-steel tanks at 26 °C. Must and wine are transferred to the vats by gravity.

Ageing

The wine matures for 10 months in oak barriques, half of which are new, followed by six months in the winery’s cellars after bottling.

Tasting profile

The wine has excellent structure and depth, with high polyphenol levels.

Label / history

Missoni, known for knitwear and textiles with intricate geometric patterns, created the label. The range pairs its wines with labels designed by prominent Italian designers, each working in a distinctive style. Part of the annual sales proceeds supports charitable causes, including the restoration of Sicilian works of art and monuments.
