Label / history
The name Teroldego most likely derives from the German expression “Tiroler Gold,” meaning “Gold of Tyrol.” The variety was known by the end of the 15th century. Its producers established a consortium in 1948 to oversee and protect Teroldego Rotaliano, which received DOC status in 1970.
