About this wine

Grapes

The blend combines Arneis and Muscat, with the proportions changing according to the vintage.

Vinification

Production is limited to favourable years because rainy, humid conditions can prevent the bunches from ripening evenly. The vines are pruned during the first ten days of September, after which the grapes are left to dry for about two months. Harvest and vinification take place at the end of October.

Ageing

The wine matures for at least 40 months in 225- and 500-litre oak barrels.

Label / history

Gemma di Sole Passito was developed in the late 1980s after lengthy trials at Ceste with different grape varieties.
