About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown on the hills surrounding the village of Castelvetro, in the province of Modena.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and gently pressed, followed by 36 hours of cold maceration to extract colour and aroma. The must ferments in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled 18–20 °C with selected yeasts. Secondary fermentation takes place in sealed autoclaves using the Charmat method.
Tasting profile
The nose is generous, with berry and other fruit aromas.
Serving and pairing
Pairs with pasta, cured meats and mature cheeses.
Label / history
Cleto Chiarli founded the company in 1860 after managing Trattoria dell’Artigliere in central Modena, where he made Lambrusco for the restaurant’s regular customers. The family owns more than 90 ha of vineyards in the Lambrusco DOC production area. In 2002, Mauro and Anselmo Chiarli decided to build a new winery at the Azienda Agricola Castelvetro estate; since 2003, it has produced Lambrusco under the “Cleto Chiarli” brand.
