About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from Lambrusco Grasparossa vines grown on the hills surrounding Castelvetro, in the province of Modena.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and gently pressed. They undergo 36 hours of maceration at 10–12 °C, after which the must is decanted and fermented with selected yeasts. A long secondary fermentation takes place at low temperature in closed tanks.
Tasting profile
Lively and lightly sparkling, with an inviting aroma and flavours of berries and other fruit.
Label / history
Chiarli was founded in 1860 by Cleto Chiarli, who had previously made Lambrusco for guests at his Trattoria dell'Artigliere in central Modena. The family owns more than 90 ha of vineyards within the Lambrusco DOC production area. In 2002, Mauro and Anselmo Chiarli decided to build a modern winery at the Azienda Agricola Castelvetro estate; since 2003, it has produced Lambrusco under the Cleto Chiarli brand.
