Label / history
Cleto Chiarli founded the company in 1860 after managing Trattoria dell'Artigliere in central Modena, where he made Lambrusco for regular guests. Its popularity prompted him to begin producing the wine for wider sale. The Chiarli family owns more than 90 ha of vineyards in the Lambrusco DOC production area. In 2002, Mauro and Anselmo Chiarli decided to build a new winery at Azienda Agricola Castelvetro; since 2003, the facility has produced Lambrusco under the Cleto Chiarli brand.
