About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the historic Vigneto Cialdini, a vineyard of around 13 ha in southern Emilia-Romagna. The area has a mild climate and mineral-rich soils.
Vinification
After harvest, the grapes are pressed using traditional methods and macerated for 36 hours at a controlled low temperature. The wine is cold-stabilized on the lees for two months, then undergoes a slow fermentation under pressure.
Ageing
The wine rests in bottle for one month.
Label / history
The label bears the name of the historic vineyard where the grapes are grown. Cleto Chiarli founded the company in 1860 after making Lambrusco for regular guests at his Trattoria dell’Artigliere in central Modena. The family owns more than 90 ha of vineyards in the Lambrusco DOC production area. In 2002, Mauro and Anselmo Chiarli decided to build a new winery at the Azienda Agricola Castelvetro estate; the facility has produced Lambrusco under the Cleto Chiarli brand since 2003.
